Virabhadra Plaque (IBS120)
Description
This is an excellent plaque depicting Shiva in his most powerful for, Virabhadra. Daksha, whose human head was replaced with a ram’s head, stands on Virabhadra’s left. His consort to the right. These plaque appear on most Shaivite homes are used for worship to carried on parade during festivals. As can be seen here this was used a great deal for worship. Thre is a lot of powder remnants all over it.
