Folk Art Shiva & Parvati (IBS144)

Description

An extremely good example of a folk art image of Shiva & Parvati. This is a good sized piece and in excellent condition with no damage or bronze loss. It has been cleaned but not by us.

Here we see Shiva and Parvati sat with legs crossed and holding each other by the waste. This illustrates their total unison. Shiva hold the trisula and Parvati hold out a plate of Panchapindas. Below them we see Nandi infront of a Lingam. To the left is the Cobra and to the right is their son Ganesha. At the back we see a mythical bird. Above the heads of the gods is a representation of the sun and the moon.

All in all this has every aspect we would expect to see in such an image and in superb condition. A real gem for any folk art collector.
