Description

Icons of Narashimha are and rare this piece is no exception. Here we see Yoginarashima (with the knee band) accompanied by his consort Lakshmi. It is a reasonable sized piece. Narasimha's upper right hand has been replaced some time ago and it is a little out of proportion. Narasimha's right eye and belly button are decorated with gold and inset rubies. Although these details have not been verified we have no cause to doubt the authentiticy. Originally both shoulders, the left eye and forehead would have had the same detail.
