Nandi Oblation Vessel (IBS293)
Description
A stunning and large late 18th century Indian Bronze Oblation Vessel used for pouring liquids over a Lingam during pooja. Here we see the Vahana of Shiva in superb detail. Nandi stands on a 2 tier plinth and above his back he carried a Yoni lamp. The detail all over this piece is exquisite. There is no damage with the exception of a small area of original bronze loss to the base just below Nandi's tail. It is a very substantial and heavy piece.
