Marble Stele of an Attendant (IBS301)
Description
A fine marble stele of a royal attendant. The image has been brightly painted in gold, black, red green and blue. The female attendant holds a fly whisk. She stands in a similar posture as Venugopala. She could therefore be a chauri or guardian.
Some of the paint has come off but this is commensurate to the age but it is unusual to see carvings with this amount of colour intact. It stands well unaided.
